San Donato Milanese (MI), 22 dicembre 2017 - L'ICC International Court of Arbitration ha comunicato alle parti la decisione del collegio arbitrale nel contenzioso in essere dal marzo 2014 tra Saipem SA e Saipem Contracting Algérie SpA da una parte (insieme "Saipem") e Sonatrach dall'altra, relativamente alla costruzione dell'impianto algerino Extraction des liquides des gaz associés Hassi Messaoud et séparation d'huile LDHP ZCINA (progetto "LPG"), di cui al contratto concluso tra le parti il 12 novembre 2008.
Nell'ambito della decisione relativa all'arbitrato LPG gli arbitri hanno accolto - con decisione presa a maggioranza - una domanda riconvenzionale di Sonatrach a titolo di indennizzo per perdita di produzione dell'importo complessivo, comprensivo di interessi, di circa 135 milioni di USD sulla base di una asserita colpa grave che Saipem ritiene invece non sia ravvisabile.
Saipem esaminerà le motivazioni del lodo e si riserva ogni azione al riguardo.
La decisione del collegio arbitrale di accogliere la domanda riconvenzionale sopra citata, determinerà, salvo esito positivo delle azioni che Saipem si riserva di intraprendere al riguardo, la rilevazione nel bilancio 2017 di oneri di pari importo, non previsti nella guidance economica.
L'arbitrato LPG - insieme ad altri 3 arbitrati tuttora pendenti tra Saipem e Sonatrach (ed in un caso anche First Calgary Petroleums LP) - è analiticamente descritto da ultimo nella Relazione Finanziaria Semestrale 2017 della Società.

San Donato Milanese (MI), December 22, 2017 – The ICC International Court of Arbitration has notified the parties of the decision of the arbitral tribunal in the dispute ongoing since March 2014 between, on the one hand, Saipem SA and Saipem Contracting Algérie SpA (collectively "Saipem") and, on the other, Sonatrach, in connection with the contract for the construction in Algeria of a plant for the 'extraction des liquides des gaz associés Hassi Messaoud et séparation d'huile' (project "LPG"), the contract for which was entered into on 12 November 2008.
In the decision relating to the LPG arbitration the arbitrators awarded to Sonatrach – in a decision taken by majority vote – compensation in respect of a counterclaim for loss of production in an amount, including interests, of approximately 135 million USD on the basis of an alleged gross negligence which Saipem denies.
Saipem will review the reasons for the decision and reserves its rights in respect of any further recourse against the award.
The decision of the arbitrators to award the above-mentioned counterclaim - in the absence of a positive result in the further legal actions which Saipem reserves the right to take - will result in costs in an amount equal to such counterclaim in the 2017 financial report, costs which have not been budgeted for in the economic guidance.
