ForFarmers expands in Poland through acquisition of Piast Pasze Sp. z.o.o.

ForFarmers/Tasomix has come to an agreement with Piast Pasze Sp. z.o.o. ('Piast') to merge their feed activities. The volume of ForFarmers/Tasomix will consequently increase by 410,000 tonnes. In addition, ForFarmers/Tasomix will strengthen its position in the broiler sector in particular. The transaction is pending the approval of the Polish competition authority. Closing of the transaction is expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2023.

ForFarmers/Tasomix is a large feed producer with over 30 years of experience on the Polish market. The company has a strong position in the poultry sector and also focuses on growing its position in both the ruminant and pig sector. One of the strategic objectives of ForFarmers/Tasomix is to expand in the attractive Polish agricultural market. The acquisition of Piast is entirely in line with this objective.

Piast offers great cooperation opportunities

The history of Piast dates back to the 1970s with its original location in Lewkowiec (Central Poland) that mainly focused on broiler and turkey farmers in the free market. Over time, Piast expanded its portfolio of products for pigs and cattle and acquired additional production locations in Plonsk, Golancz and Olesno. There are 220 employees involved in management, sales, and production.

Due to the location of the mills of Piast versus those of ForFarmers/Tasomix, it is possible to create dedicated mills to be able to produce more efficiently. The larger geographical footprint provides opportunities to enlarge the customer base. In addition, Piast owns two unique poultry feed technologies, which are cost efficient, can well be applied at ForFarmers/Tasomix and also fit with the sustainability strategy.

ForFarmers breidt uit in Polen door overname van Piast Pasze Sp. z.o.o.

ForFarmers/Tasomix is met Piast Pasze Sp. z.o.o. ("Piast") overeengekomen de voeractiviteiten samen te voegen. Daardoor wordt het volume van ForFarmers/Tasomix in Polen met 410.000 ton uitgebreid en de positie in vooral de vleeskuikensector versterkt. De transactie moet worden goedgekeurd door de Poolse mededingingsautoriteit. Verwacht wordt de transactie af te kunnen ronden in de het vierde kwartaal van 2023.

ForFarmers/Tasomix is een grote voerproducent met meer dan 30 jaar ervaring in Polen. Het bedrijf heeft een sterke positie in de pluimveesector en richt zich ook op de groei van de posities in de herkauwers- en de varkenssector. Een van de strategische doelstellingen van ForFarmers/Tasomix is om uit te breiden in de aantrekkelijke Poolse agrarische markt. De overname van Piast is geheel in lijn met deze doelstelling.

Piast biedt goede samenwerkingsmogelijkheden

Piast begon als voerproducent rond 1970 in Lewkowiec (Centraal-Polen), vooral gericht op vleeskuiken- en kalkoenenhouders in de vrije markt. Gaandeweg breidde Piast de portfolio uit met producten voor varkens- en melkveehouders en werden additionele productielocaties overgenomen in Płońsk, Golancz en Olesno. Er zijn 220 medewerkers betrokken bij management, commercie en productie.

Door de locaties van de fabrieken van Piast ten opzichte van die van ForFarmers/Tasomix is het mogelijk specifiek toegewijde productielijnen te creëren om efficiënter te kunnen produceren. De grotere geografische spreiding biedt kansen om het klantenbestand verder te doen groeien. Daarnaast is Piast eigenaar van twee unieke technologieën voor voerproductie die kostenefficiënt zijn, goed kunnen worden toegepast door ForFarmers/Tasomix en bovendien passen binnen het duurzaamheidsbeleid.
