# **ForFarmers trading update Q3 2024: Strong quarter with significant volume growth and robust profitability**

**Pieter Wolleswinkel, CEO ForFarmers:** "The strong trend from the first half of the year continued into the third quarter. Our ambition to continue gaining market share was reflected in significant volume growth of 6%. Operational profitability has once again improved strongly, driven in part by the market-oriented approach, using our scale and knowledge. We remain committed to cost control. This result, in which we were again able to provide our farmers with good feed at competitive prices, is due to the hard work of our employees.

In the past quarter, we have again taken important strategic steps, such as the announcement of the joint venture with team agrar. This will lay the foundation for a solid long-term position in Germany. In September we were pleased to welcome the employees of Van Triest, which has significantly strengthened our position in co-products. We have also proudly communicated our sharpened sustainability ambitions towards 2030, in order to contribute to a future-proof agricultural sector."

# **Highlights Q3 2024**

- Total volume increased by 6.1% compared to Q3 2023; compound feed volume increased by 2.8%; On a like-for-like basis, volume growth shows a similar trend at 4.3% for total volume and 2.5% for compound feed.
- Turnover decreased by 4.5%, entirely attributable to the decline in raw material prices.
- Strong increase in operating profitability; underlying EBIT increased by 48.9% and underlying EBITDA increased by 28.2%, driven by higher gross margin and cost control.
- The ROACE ratio<sup>1</sup> on underlying EBIT increased from 10.7% as at 30 June 2024 to 11.6% as at 30 September 2024.
- The acquisition of Van Triest Veevoeders was completed in September 2024, an important step in increasing the share of circular raw materials.
- Announcement of joint venture with team agrar to more closely serve the German market.

### **ForFarmers trading update Q3 2024: Sterk kwartaal met significante volumegroei en goede resultaatontwikkeling**

**Pieter Wolleswinkel, CEO ForFarmers:** "De sterke lijn van het eerste halfjaar zet ook in het derde kwartaal door. Onze ambitie om marktaandeel te blijven winnen, zien we terug in de mooie volumegroei van 6%. De operationele winstgevendheid is wederom sterk verbeterd, onder andere gedreven door de marktgerichte aanpak, gebruikmakend van onze schaal en kennis. We blijven op kostenbewustzijn inzetten. Dit resultaat, waarbij we onze boeren ook dit kwartaal weer goed voer tegen scherpe prijzen hebben kunnen leveren, is te danken aan het harde werk van onze medewerkers.

Het afgelopen kwartaal hebben we weer mooie strategische stappen gezet, zoals de aankondiging van de joint venture met team agrar. Hiermee leggen we de basis voor een solide lange termijn positie in Duitsland. In september mochten we de medewerkers van Van Triest verwelkomen, waarmee we onze positie in reststromen belangrijk hebben versterkt. Ook hebben we met trots onze aangescherpte duurzaamheidsambities richting 2030 gecommuniceerd, om zo bij te dragen aan een toekomstbestendige agrarische sector."

# **Kernpunten Q3 2024**

- Totaal volume nam met 6,1% toe ten opzichte van Q3 2023; het mengvoervolume is met 2,8% toegenomen; de autonome volumegroei laat met 4,3% voor totaal volume en 2,5% voor mengvoer een gelijke trend zien.
- Omzet is met 4,5% afgenomen, volledig toe te wijzen aan de daling van grondstofprijzen.
- Sterke stijging operationele winst; onderliggende EBIT stijgt 48,9% en onderliggende EBITDA neemt met 28,2% toe, als gevolg van de hogere brutomarge en kostenbeheersing.
- De ROACE ratio<sup>1</sup> op de onderliggende EBIT nam toe van 10,7% per 30 juni 2024 naar 11,6% per 30 september 2024.
- In september 2024 is de overname van Van Triest Veevoeders afgerond, een belangrijke stap in het vergroten van het aandeel circulaire grondstoffen.
- Aankondiging joint venture met team agrar om de Duitse markt nog beter te bedienen.
