Milano – 24 aprile 2020 – Gita, il rivoluzionario robot progettato, sviluppato e prodotto da Piaggio Fast Forward, (PFF), è stato insignito ai Red Dot Awards – Product Design 2020 di due importanti riconoscimenti: il sigillo di qualità RED DOT per il design unico e disruptive, e con il più prestigioso dei premi assegnati, il BEST OF THE BEST tra i prodotti innovativi.
Il "Red Dot: Best of the Best" è il più alto riconoscimento in concorso ai Red Dot Awards – Product Design, ed è stato assegnato dalla giuria internazionale a Gita nella meta-categoria "prodotti innovativi" per "il livello straordinario di design innovativo e per la progettazione fuori dal comune". La giuria inoltre ha apprezzato "le qualità e peculiarità del robot, un vero e proprio assistente personale che rappresenta la mobilità leggera del futuro".
Il sigillo di qualità RED DOT nella categoria del product design assegnato a Gita è riservato ai migliori prodotti al mondo dalle riconosciute qualità in termini di design e innovazione. Tra gli altri che hanno ricevuto questo sigillo, anche prodotti di brand internazionali quali Apple, Braun, Acer, Fujifilm, Bosch e Philips.
Gita è il primo innovativo progetto di Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF), la società del Gruppo Piaggio (PIA.MI) con sede a Boston incentrata sulla robotica e mobilità del futuro.
È un robot carrier della tipologia "follow me", unico nel suo genere, in grado di trasportare pesi fino a 20 kg e di seguire il proprietario in ambienti interni ed esterni, con una velocità massima di 10 chilometri orari e un'autonomia di 4 ore.
Gita viene prodotto nel nuovo stabilimento di Piaggio Fast Forward situato nel quartiere di Charlestown, a Boston, e la commercializzazione, iniziata lo scorso novembre sui canali on-line, prevede una prima fase dedicata al mercato statunitense, dove la circolazione di robot per le strade cittadine è già disciplinata.
Il Red Dot Design Award è famoso in tutto il mondo ed è uno dei più principali e importanti riconoscimenti di design. Il premio è stato istituito nel 1995 da Peter Zec, Presidente dell'International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID), rinominato World Design Organization nel 2017.
Designer e aziende da oltre 60 paesi hanno presentato più di 6.500 candidature, un record per questo il concorso che ogni anno valuta migliaia di prodotti premiando i migliori in termini di eccellenza nel design.
Per il 2020 quaranta esperti, provenienti da diverse discipline, hanno valutato il design ma anche la qualità di produzione, la scelta dei materiali, l'ergonomia e la funzionalità. Molti famosi team di progettazione hanno ricevuto questo titolo in passato, come Apple, Audi, Nokia e Lenovo.
Oltre che nel "product design", i Red Dot Awards vengono assegnati nel campo del "brands and communication" e "design concept". Ogni anno vengono inviate più di 10.000 candidature.

Milan – 24 April 2020 – Gita, the revolutionary robot designed, developed and produced by Piaggio Fast Forward, (PFF), has won recognition in two important categories of the Red Dot Awards – Product Design 2020: the RED DOT seal of quality for unique and disruptive design and the most prestigious of the award categories for innovative products, the BEST OF THE BEST.
The "Red Dot: Best of the Best" is the highest distinction of the Red Dot Awards – Product Design competition and was given by the international jury to the Gita robot in the meta-category "innovative products", for "the extraordinary level of innovative design and exceptional creativity". The jury also appreciated "the quality and specific features of the robot, a true personal assistant that represents light mobility of the future".
In the product design category, the RED DOT seal of quality awarded to Gita is given to the world's best products with acknowledged design and innovation qualities. Other recipients of the seal of quality include products from international brands such as Apple, Braun, Acer, Fujifilm, Bosch and Philips.
Gita is the first innovative project of Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF), the Boston-based robotics and future mobility company of the Piaggio Group.
It is a unique follow-me robot carrier, with a payload of 20 kg, designed to follow the user indoors and outdoors, at a top speed of 10 km/hour and with a 4-hour battery life.
Gita robots are produced in the new Piaggio Fast Forward facility in the Charlestown district of Boston. Marketing began in November last year through online channels, with a first phase focused on the US market, where the circulation of robots on city streets is already regulated.
The Red Dot Design Award has worldwide recognition and is one of the leading design awards. It was established in 1995 by Peter Zec, President of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID), which was re-named the World Design Organization in 2017.
Designers and companies from more than 60 countries presented over 6,500 entries, a record in the history of the competition, which every year examines thousands of products to select the best in terms of design excellence.
