HAVING RECEIVED THE PATENT FROM THE U.S. PATENT OFFICE, AGATOS HAS COMPLETED THE ALL THE STEPS NECESSARY TO PATENT IN THE MAIN COUNTRIES onOF THE WORLD THE INNOVATIVE "BIOSIP" PROCESS FOR RECOVERING ENERGY AND BIOMETHANE FROM WASTE AND ORGANIC BY-PRODUCTS

THE BIOSIP PROCESS IS NOW RECOGNIZED AND PATENTED IN NINE LARGE COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD

Milan April 28, 2020 - Agatos SpA (hereinafter "Agatos" or the "Company") announces that the subsidiary Agatos Green Power Lemuria Srl ("Agatos Lemuria"), holder of the primary patent granted in Italy in 2017 relating to the so-called "BIOSIP" process has obtained patents expiring in 2036 in the USA and Europe on the basis of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). At the same time, Agatos Lemuria has received BIOSIP process patents from each of the following countries: Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain, Romania, Spain and Switzerland, based on the European Patent Practice (EPP). In China, the patent registration request has been filed on the basis of the PCT, at the same time as the other countries, it has been published, and is now, following clarifications, pending. Once granted, the patent will expire in 2036. BIOSIP is an innovative process of treatment of organic waste and by-products for the production of biomethane, liquefied biomethane and / or electricity.

This important milestone reflects the efforts made by Agatos to have the BIOSIP process recognized and introduced in the main countries worldwide, a path that the Company started four years ago.

It should be remembered that the BIOSIP process is used in the first industrial project being built by Agatos in Marcallo, in the province of Milan, that will treat the Organic Fraction of Urban Solid Waste. Another application of the BIOSIP process is the treatment of livestock / zootechnical waste, the so-called BIOSIP AGRI process. Agatos has already announced two BIOSIP AGRI projects and expects to announce another one soon.

Ingmar Wilhelm, comments as follows: "The obtaining of the BIOSIP patent in the USA, as well as in the main European countries, as well as the publication in China, confirms the worldwide importance of the innovation represented by the BIOSIP process and the concreteness of the Company strategy of developing proprietary technologies. This result will allow Agatos to promote the BIOSIP process both as a developer and as an EPC contractor in various countries of nee BIOSIP product line will represent a growing source of revenue in Agatos' business plan, the potential of which has been greatly enhanced by obtaining these patents. "
