ASCOPIAVE: Ascopiave enters the integrated water systems service through 100% purchase of Cart Acqua S.r.l. Share Capital

Ascopiave has today finalised its first ever investment in the integrated water systems sector through the 100% purchase of Cart Acqua S.r.l. share capital.

In addition to directly providing water systems services as well as engineering services, Cart Acqua S.r.l. also holds a 18.33% stake in the share capital of Cogeide S.p.A., which manages the integrated water Service in 15 municipalities in the Bergamo Province, under the safeguard regime ("regime di salvaguardia").

In 2019, Cart Acqua S.r.l generated revenues from services for € 237 thousand. As of 31st December 2019 shareholders' equity was € 3.8 million and net cash was € 140 thousand.

Investee company, Cogeide S.p.A. serves a catchment area of over 100 thousand inhabitants, with a network of about 880 km. The company's EBITDA was € 4.6 million as of 31st December 2019, while shareholders' equity and net financial debt were equal to € 25.8 and € 4.7 respectively.

The amount disbursed has been € 8 million by cash.

"The operation is the first important step for the Ascopiave Group towards a new regulated sector which is in addition to our gas distribution core business. It embarks us on the path of some very interesting development opportunities", said Nicola Cecconato, Chairman and CEO, Ascopiave.

The Ascopiave Group is one of the leading operators in natural gas distribution in the country.

The Group owns concessions and direct assignments for the management of activities in 268 towns, supplying services to about 775,000 inhabitants, through a network which spreads over 12,000 kilometres.

Ascopiave is also a partner of the Hera Group in the marketing of gas and electric power, through a 48% stake in Est Energy, a leading operator in the field holding a portfolio of over 1 million sales contracts to end users, mainly in Veneto, Friuli Venezia-Giulia and Lombardy regions.

Ascopiave has been listed under the Star segment of Borsa Italiana since 12th December 2006.
