San Donato Milanese (MI), 4 giugno 2021 - Saipem e Naval Energies, società controllata da Naval Group, hanno firmato ieri un accordo per l'acquisizione delle attività di Naval Energies nel settore dell'energia eolica flottante, che consistono nel know-how ingegneristico di Naval Energies relativamente alle unità flottanti, in diritti di proprietà intellettuale e circa trenta risorse con competenze di modellizzazione e simulazione.
Questa operazione ha un impatto del tutto marginale sulla posizione finanziaria del gruppo Saipem.
Saipem è presente in Francia dal 2002 attraverso le proprie controllate Saipem SA e Sofresid Engineering SA. La società, attraverso la business unit New Energies della Divisione E&C Offshore, è già protagonista nel business delle energie rinnovabili.
Naval Energies ha oltre 10 anni di esperienza nell'eolico flottante offshore e ha sviluppato un concept di eolico semi-sommergibile flottante tra i migliori sul mercato. Naval Group ha annunciato all'inizio di febbraio l'intenzione di interrompere i propri sviluppi nel campo delle energie rinnovabili offshore avviando un processo finalizzato alla cessazione delle attività di Naval Energies, inclusa la ricerca di un acquirente per tutte o parte delle attività della società. Il completamento dell'operazione è soggetto alle necessarie autorizzazioni amministrative.
Mauro Piasere, responsabile della Business Unit Offshore New Energies di Saipem, ha commentato: "Con questa acquisizione ampliamo il nostro portafoglio di tecnologie e posizioniamo Saipem nella gara per l'assegnazione del progetto eolico flottante offshore di Groix & Belle-Île, in Francia, per il quale punteremo sulle nostre riconosciute capacità di esecuzione di progetti chiavi in mano, al servizio di EOLFI. Il knowhow che acquisiamo consolida la nostra posizione nel mercato delle energie rinnovabili offshore, in particolare nell'eolico flottante".

San Donato Milanese (Italy), June 4, 2021 - Saipem and Naval Energies, a subsidiary of Naval Group, signed yesterday an agreement for the acquisition of Naval Energies' floating wind business, consisting in Naval Energies' engineering know-how on floating units, intellectual property rights and approximately thirty resources with expertise in modelling and simulation.
The transaction has no material effect on Saipem financial position.
Saipem has been established in France since 2002 with its subsidiaries Saipem SA and Sofresid Engineering SA. The company, through the New Energies business unit within its E&C Offshore Division, is already a player in the renewable energies.
Naval Energies has more than 10 years of experience in floating offshore wind and has developed a semisubmersible floater concept which is among the best in the market.
Naval Group had announced at the beginning of February that it was ending its developments in the offshore renewable energy sector by starting a process aimed at the cessation of Naval Energies' activities, including the search for a buyer for all or part of the company's activities. The completion of the transaction is subject to obtaining the relevant administrative authorisations.
Mauro Piasere, Head of Saipem Offshore New Energies Business Unit, said: "With this acquisition, we are expanding our technology portfolio and we position Saipem in the competition for the award of the floating wind project of Groix & Belle-Île, in France, for which we will leverage on our recognised expertise in executing turnkey projects, at the service of EOLFI. The know-how we are acquiring further strengthens our position in the market of offshore renewables, specifically floating wind".
