DG Innovate Delivers Industry-Leading 450kW Prototype Motor

DG Innovate plc (LSE: DGI), the advanced research and development Company developing pioneering solutions in sustainable mobility and energy storage, is pleased to announce the successful delivery of a cutting-edge 450kW prototype motor to ATF funded Pareta® project partner, Meritor Electric Powertrain Systems (UK) Ltd (Meritor)*.

The new DGI manufactured motor weighs only 180kg, with industry-leading torque density and delivers continuous power with an impressive 97.3% measured efficiency when paired with DGI's inverter, and a 98.5% efficiency from the motor alone. These figures are a testament to a remarkable leap in performance and demonstrates industry leading efficiency.

Among the novel features of this motor is an innovative cooling method that ensures peak performance under extreme conditions, enhancing both reliability and longevity. Furthermore, the motor incorporates built-in redundancy through a parallel inverter architecture, providing an added layer of security assuring uninterrupted operational continuity.

Meritor will now commence in-house testing of the motor. Upon successful completion, the intention is to adopt the design into its ePowertrain offering aimed at OEM clients for heavy duty applications.

The successful delivery of this prototype motor not only reinforces DGI's position as a leader in sustainable mobility and energy storage but also provides multiple strategic advantages that can drive future growth and enhance market presence. The emphasis on innovation, efficiency, and reliability positions DGI to capitalise on emerging opportunities in an evolving industry landscape.

Commenting, Peter Bardenfleth-Hansen, CEO of DG Innovate, said:

"This significant milestone underscores the exceptional capabilities of our engineering team and reaffirms DGI's position at the forefront of motor innovation. The delivery of this advanced drive unit to Cummins-Meritor stands as a testament to the dedication and expertise of our engineering team. Our relentless pursuit of excellence guarantees that our clients receive the most advanced technology, along with the reliability and performance they have come to expect from DGI."
