Il progetto riguarda due complessi offshore di compressione di gas in Qatar. L'assegnazione rappresenta il più importante contratto offshore in termini di valore economico totale nella storia della società
San Donato Milanese (MI), 19 ottobre 2022 - Saipem si è aggiudicata un contratto da Qatargas per il progetto North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Compression Complexes – EPC 2 al largo della costa nordorientale del Qatar. Il contratto ha un valore di circa 4,5 miliardi di dollari.
L'oggetto del contratto comprende l'ingegneria, l'approvvigionamento, la fabbricazione e l'installazione di due complessi di compressione offshore di gas naturale volti a supportare la produzione del giacimento North Field, che includono due delle più grandi piattaforme di compressione su jacket in acciaio mai costruite, ponti di interconnessione, moduli alloggi e di interfaccia.
Per eseguire il progetto, Saipem si avvarrà dei propri asset, know-how e competenze in materia di ingegneria, installazione e fabbricazione offshore nonché sulla capacità di valorizzare il local content.
Questa prestigiosa assegnazione rappresenta il più importante contratto offshore in termini di valore economico totale nella storia della società. Essa segue l'aggiudicazione all'inizio del 2021 degli impianti offshore per l'estrazione e il trasporto di gas naturale per lo stesso giacimento e dimostra la continuità e la qualità delle prestazioni di Saipem in Qatar.
Con questo contratto, Saipem accelera il proprio riposizionamento strategico nei segmenti offshore (E&C e drilling) che rappresentano la maggior parte dei nuovi ordini annunciati da inizio anno, supportando ulteriormente la realizzazione del proprio Piano Strategico.

The project encompasses two offshore gas compression complexes in Qatar. The award represents the largest single offshore contract by total value in the company's history
San Donato Milanese (Italy), 19 October 2022 – Saipem has been awarded a contract by Qatargas for the North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Compression Complexes Project – EPC 2 located offshore the north-east coast of Qatar. The contract value amounts to approximately 4.5 billion USD.
The scope of work encompasses the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of two offshore natural gas compression complexes aimed at sustaining the production of the North Field, including two of the largest fixed steel jacket compression platforms ever built, flare platforms, interconnecting bridges, living quarters and interface modules.
To execute this project, Saipem will leverage on its own assets, know-how and competences on offshore engineering, installation and fabrication, as well as its capability to maximize local content.
This prestigious award represents the largest single offshore contract by total value in the company's history. It follows the award in early 2021 related to offshore facilities for extraction and transportation of natural gas for the same field and demonstrates the continuity and the quality of Saipem's performance in Qatar.
With this contract, Saipem accelerates its strategic repositioning in the offshore segments (E&C and drilling) which represent the large majority of the announced order intake year-to-date, further supporting the delivery of its Strategic Plan.
