Servizi Italia strengthens and expands its offerings in Brazil with the inauguration of the first CSSD in the state of São Paulo

Castellina di Soragna (PR), Italy, 29 March 2023

Servizi Italia, a company listed on the Euronext STAR Milan of Borsa Italiana and leading operator in the outsourcing of hospital services in Italy, Brazil, Turkey, India, Albania, Morocco – announces that on the afternoon of 28 March 2023, the opening of the first sterilization center of the Servizi Italia Group took place in the State of São Paulo, Brazil.

The Group – which has been present in the country since 2012 and is currently active with three plants in the wash-hire sector employing about 1,200 people – with a view to expand the range of its services in the healthcare sector and entering the market for textile and surgical instrument sterilization services, inaugurated its first sterilization center inBrazil, in the Jaguaré area of São Paulo and realized through its subsidiary company with strategic importance Lavsim Higienização Têxtil S.A.

The transaction involved an investment of approx. Reais 22.4 million, equal to about Euro 4.0 million (exchange rate on 28/03/2023, Euro 5.6080) for the construction of a sterilization plant capable of processing surgical instruments for about 28,000 surgical procedures/year and over 50.000 surgeries with sterile textile for operating theaters, with plans to increase production capacity to about 70,000 procedures/year and up to 100,000 surgeries for sterile textile line.

Servizi Italia believes that the São Paulo area is particularly interesting in terms of demand as the facility can cover a potential market up to an estimated radius of about 80 kilometers i.e., an area particularly rich in target facilities for commercial development. In terms of potential margins, it expects to be able to successfully develop the sterilization business line in this market, thanks in particular to its operational know-how and the relevant commercial network that the Group has developed in over ten years of activity. The market that Servizi Italia targets is mainly composed of private hospitals and clinics, public hospitals, day hospital clinics with aesthetic and diagnostic focus, consultants' offices and private outpatient clinics.
