Saipem, aggiudicati nuovi contratti per un valore complessivo di circa 1 miliardo di dollari

Si tratta di un contratto EPCI offshore in Medio Oriente e un contratto per lo sviluppo di droni sottomarini in Brasile

Milano, 28 giugno 2023 – Saipem si è aggiudicata due nuovi contratti, uno per attività EPCI offshore in Medio Oriente e l'altro per lo sviluppo di droni sottomarini in Brasile. Il valore complessivo di queste nuove acquisizioni è di circa 1 miliardo di dollari.

Nell'ambito del Long Term Agreement (LTA) in vigore con Saudi Aramco, Saipem è stata selezionata per l'assegnazione di un nuovo progetto offshore. Le attività assegnate consistono nell'ingegneria, nell'approvvigionamento, nella costruzione e nell'installazione di cinque piattaforme e delle relative condotte sottomarine, flowline e cavi nel giacimento di Marjan, al largo dell'Arabia Saudita, con uno schema di fabbricazione interamente in loco. L'efficacia del contratto è soggetta al verificarsi delle consuete condizioni sospensive.

Con questa importante aggiudicazione Saipem rafforza ulteriormente il proprio rapporto di lunga data con Saudi Aramco e il proprio posizionamento strategico in Medio Oriente.

Inoltre, Saipem si è aggiudicata un contratto da Petrobras per lo sviluppo e il collaudo di una soluzione robotica autonoma per le ispezioni sottomarine, che sarà basata sulla flotta di droni subacquei Saipem, a partire dal Flatfish AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle), e la qualifica per relativi servizi basati su droni autonomi, consentendo future opzioni per contratti di ispezione al largo del Brasile.

Questo contratto segna una tappa fondamentale per l'innovativo programma di robotica sottomarina di Saipem e per l'utilizzo su scala globale dei droni sottomarini nei progetti offshore lungo l'intera catena del valore, e permetterà di estendere alle nuove funzionalità la maturità (Technology Readiness Level 7) raggiunta dalla flotta di droni sottomarini di Saipem. Il potenziale di queste tecnologie sottomarine in ambito offshore è importante sia per lo sviluppo di campi oil & gas sia per il segmento di mercato delle energie rinnovabili.

Saipem awarded new contracts for an overall amount of approximately 1 billion USD

These regard an EPCI offshore contract in the Middle East and a contract for the development of underwater drones in Brazil

Milan (Italy), June 28, 2023 – Saipem has been awarded two new contracts, one for EPCI offshore activities in the Middle East and the other for the development of underwater drones in Brazil. The overall amount of these new acquisitions is approximately 1 billion USD.

Under the existing Long-Term Agreement (LTA) with Saudi Aramco, Saipem has been selected to be awarded a new offshore project. The scope of work involves the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of five platforms and associated subsea pipelines, flowlines, and cables in the Marjan field, offshore Saudi Arabia, featuring an entirely in-Kingdom fabrication scheme. The effectiveness of the contract is subject to the fulfilment of the customary conditions precedent.

With this important award, Saipem further strengthens its long-standing relationship with Saudi Aramco and its strategic positioning in the Middle East.

Furthermore, Saipem has been awarded a contract by Petrobras for the development and testing of an autonomous subsea inspection robotic solution, which will be based on Saipem's fleet of underwater drones, starting from the Flatfish AUV, as well as the qualification of related autonomous drone-based services, enabling future inspection contract options offshore Brazil.

This contract marks a fundamental milestone for Saipem's innovative underwater robotics programme and for the global scale utilisation of subsea drones in offshore projects throughout the entire value chain, and it allows to extend to the new features to the Technology Readiness Level 7 (TRL7) achieved on Saipem's fleet of subsea drones. The potential of these subsea technologies within the offshore domain is vast, both for oil and gas developments as well as for the renewables market segment.
