BANCO BPM APPOINTS ADOLFO PELLEGRINO CHIEF INNOVATION OFFICER
He will manage Information Technology, Operations, Cybersecurity and Data Governance
He will work with the CEO and the team of frontline managers to further accelerate the digital transformation of Italy's third largest banking group
Milan, 10 July 2023 - As of the beginning of July, Adolfo Pellegrino has joined Banco BPM's management team as Chief Innovation Officer (CIO).
After working several years in investment banking and business consulting at JP Morgan and Accenture, from 2003 to 2018 Adolfo Pellegrino pursued his professional career in leading national and international banking realities – Capitalia, Unicredit, BNP Paribas BNL – with positions of responsibility, in Italy and abroad, in Information Technology, Innovation and Transformation, Operations, Organisation and Procurement.
From 2019 to the present, he has continued his work experience in the digital services and payments sector, first with the role of Global Chief Customer Operations at SIA and more recently as CEO and General Manager of ServiceHub and Head of Operations Transformation Italy at Nexi Group.
In all these years he has led and implemented complex corporate turnarounds, digital transformation and hyper automation programmes leveraging new technologies (machine learning and artificial intelligence, data and speech analytics), as well as simplification and change management through the adoption of innovative work methodologies (Lean/6σ, World Class Manufacturing, Agile@scale and Design Thinking).
With the appointment of the new Chief Innovation Officer, Banco BPM intends to further enhance the structure adopted to date in the area of technological innovation and digitalisation as key enablers of core business growth.
In this context, Adolfo Pellegrino will assist the Chief Executive Officer and top management in pursuing the Group's digital transformation and streamlining of the Group's operations also through a simplification of activities.
He will thus be in charge of leading the Information Technology, Data Governance & Security and Operations & Real Estate functions.
Finally, in accordance with Article IA.2.6.7 of the Instructions to the Regulation of Markets Organised and Managed by Borsa Italiana S.p.A., it is noted that Adolfo Pellegrino does not own any shares of Banco BPM.
