Zumtobel Group AG is evaluating the cessation of production at the French subsidiary ZG Europhane in Les Andelys
Zumtobel Group AG today approved the proposal of the management of ZG Europhane SAS to start the evaluation of a possible cessation of production activities at the Les Andelys plant. This process also includes the search for a potential buyer with the aim of establishing new business activities at the site.
The background to this project is that the market environment for outdoor luminaires remains challenging due to the competitive situation and continuing weakness of the construction sector. As a result, the production site in Les Andelys is significantly underutilised and structurally in deficit.
This measure would affect the production plant with 85 employees. Talks with employee representatives are starting in parallel. ZG Lighting France in Les Andelys remains fully operational as a Group-wide competence centre for outdoor luminaires and is not affected by the project.
The Zumtobel Group assumes that if production at the Les Andelys plant is discontinued, the associated negative special effects will be amortised over the next few years.
