SCAN TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY IN UPPSALA, SWEDEN

HKScan Corporation RELEASE 27 October 2008, at 5:15pm SCAN TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY IN UPPSALA, SWEDEN Scan AB, a subsidiary of HKScan responsible for the Group's business activities in Sweden, is set to improve efficiency at its consumer-packaged meat production line in Uppsala. In a bid to boost efficiency and respond to changes in customer structure, statutory employer-employee negotiations regarding a reduction of jobs were launched today. The measures planned will affect around 69 employees in Uppsala. Despite the planned reduction in jobs, consumer-packaged meat will remain in the Scan product range, with investments in these products due to continue. In addition to the consumer-packaged meat production line, Scan AB Uppsala features a distribution terminal.
