PERSONS WHO HAVE ACTED ON BEHALF OF LSO OSUUSKUNTA AND BELONG TO THE MANAGEMENT OF HKSCAN CORPORATION HAVE BEEN HEARD IN AN INSIDER CASE REGARDING SHARE PURCHASES BY LSO OSUUSKUNTA

HKScan Corporation STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE, 17 March 2009 at 5pm PERSONS WHO HAVE ACTED ON BEHALF OF LSO OSUUSKUNTA AND BELONG TO THE MANAGEMENT OF HKSCAN CORPORATION HAVE BEEN HEARD IN AN INSIDER CASE REGARDING SHARE PURCHASES BY LSO OSUUSKUNTA HKScan Corporation has been informed that persons belonging to the management of the company have been heard as suspects in a case concerning abuse of insider information, which relates to the company share purchases by LSO Osuuskunta in August 2006. The suspicion is based on the relevant persons' positions at the time as representatives of LSO Osuuskunta and does not relate to the persons' functions in the management of HKScan Corporation. One official of the company, the Chief Executive Officer of the company Matti Perkonoja and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company Markku Aalto have been heard as suspects. All of the above mentioned persons deny the suspicions as ungrounded. On the basis of presently available information and a report received by the Board of Directors of the company, the mentioned persons have the trust of the Board of Directors and will thus continue in their current positions. The Board of Directors will, if necessary, re-evaluate the issue as the investigations move forward.
