Rome, 5 June 2020 – Atlantia announces that its subsidiary, Abertis Infraestructuras, in partnership with GIC, has today completed the acquisition of a 72.3% stake in Red de Carreteras de Occidente (RCO) in Mexico. Abertis now owns a 51.3% interest in RCO, acquired for a consideration of €1.5bn, whilst GIC holds 21%. The remaining 27.7% of the company is held by local investors and pension funds.
RCO controls five concessionaires that manage 876 km of motorway network serving the industrial corridor between Mexico City and Guadalajara. In 2019, RCO registered over €400m in revenues, over €300m in EBITDA and a net debt of €2bn.
Abertis (and therefore Atlantia) will control RCO consolidating the company on a line-byline basis in its financial statements.
