COVID-19: the European Commission approves the proposal for a temporary derogation for 2020 and 2021 to the single European sky performance and charging scheme

Rome, 2020 November 4 - ENAV informs that has been approved the proposal, published in July 2020, to undertake exceptional measures for the years 2020-2021 of the third reference period (RP3) and the reinstatement to the "standard" regulation starting from 2022.

Regarding to the July proposal we observe the following main changes: within December 2020 Member States have to send to the EC initial cost data and air traffic forecast for the period 2020-2024, as inputs for the setting of the new Union-wide performance targets for RP3. Based on such information, the Commission will set the new Union-wide performance targets for RP3 within May 2021. On their side, Member States have to submit new Performance Plan, no later than October 2021.
