This week Klaipėdos Nafta sold 3 000 tons of heavy fuel oil collected and recovered from waters contaminated by oil products, thus generating over LTL 5 million extra revenue. The Company receives oily ballast and other water contaminated by oil products from the vessels at Klaipeda Seaport and treats it in its Waste Water Treatment facilities. The facilities are comprised of pre-treatment units, waste water accumulating tanks, mechanical and biological treatment facilities. During all the treatment phase's oil products are separated from water and are being returned for deeper processing in the process of which Klaipėdos Nafta recovers the product for sale. Last time Klaipedos nafta performed the sale of fuel oil accumulated during treatment process in 2006 in amount of 3100 tons and generated revenue in the amount of 1.8 mln. LTL.
