Vaisala Oyj : Vaisala Signs Significant Radiosonde Contract

Vaisala Corporation Stock Exchange Release November 7, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. Vaisala has signed a significant contract for upper air observation products to a long standing customer. The EUR 6.3 million contract includes radiosondes and accessories. The deliveries will take place in 2012. Radiosondes are meteorological devices that are used to measure pressure, temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction in the upper atmosphere. The radiosonde reaches an altitude of up to 30 kilometers and transmits continuous data to ground equipment during its ascent. The ground-based sounding system processes the data and converts it into meteorological weather messages.
