The Finnish Flight Attendants' Association (SLSY) and The Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) have issued a strike warning

Finnair Plc. Stock Exchange Release 1 November 2013 at 16.50 p.m. EET The Finnish Flight Attendants' Association (SLSY) and The Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) have issued a warning of industrial action to the Association of Support Service Industries. Various industrial action would take place during the period 15th of November at 3 pm EET to 23rd of November at 3 pm EET. - We are surprised by the strike threat since the unions have earlier assured us that they would refrain from such action. We feel especially let down by the fact that the strike warning is coming before we have had a chance to meet after last week's national frame agreement negotiations,” says COO, Ville Iho. “If the strike goes ahead, it would have a significant impact on our operations. We sincerely apologize for the worry that this strike threat will cause our customers. We at Finnair naturally hope that a solution can be reached through negotiation and a strike will be averted. - It is extremely unfortunate that the threat of industrial action was given on this day, our 90th anniversary. Any such action will of course weaken the chances of Finnair and its staff to survive the fierce structural changes that the whole industry sector is going through. We understand the challenging situation, but right now is the time to create a common future and build a foundation for the coming years.
