Swedish Competition Authority approves sale of Falbygdens cheese business to Arla

Seinäjoki, Finland, 2015-03-11 17:50 CET (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Atria Plc, COMPANY ANNOUNCEMENT, 11 March 2015, 18:50 EET Swedish Competition Authority approves sale of Falbygdens cheese business to Arla Atria and Arla Foods AB signed a preliminary agreement on 16 October 2014 for the sale of Atria's Falbygdens cheese business in Sweden to Arla Foods AB. On 11 March 2015, the Swedish Competition Authority announced its approval of the transaction. The sale price is approximately EUR 34 million, and it will be paid in cash. The operations will be consolidated into Arla Foods AB on 1.4.2015. The following will transfer to Arla: the Falbygdens cheese business and its employees, the production plant in Falköping and the Falbygdens brand. The number of transferred employees is about 100. The divestment will reduce Atria's annual net sales by approximately EUR 52 million and EBIT by some EUR 3 million.
