Pihlajalinna Group starts cooperation negotiationswith the entire personnel

Pihlajalinna Group is starting cooperation negotiations which concern the entire personnel on 1 April 2020. The negotiations are organised because the coronavirus epidemic has caused changes in the operating environment. In a stock exchange release published on Friday, 27 March 2020, the Group withdrew its outlook for 2020 and made a more careful assessment of the impact that the epidemic has had on its business operations.

The cooperation negotiations which will now begin concern all business operations and employees within the Pihlajalinna Group except for personnel at oral health services and fitness centres. For these employees, the cooperation negotiations have already begun. In addition, the physicians working in operative clinical work and majority of the municipal joint-stock companies' service functions are excluded from the negotiations.

As a result of the coronavirus epidemic, Pihlajalinna Group estimates that work in certain social and healthcare services will increase and in others, it will decrease or stop because of the Government's recommendations and changes in demand. The primary purpose of the cooperation negotiations is to negotiate with the personnel for the utilisation of the flexibility in their employment relationship, such as assigning their days off and holidays in a purposeful manner as well as temporary moves to a different task or another place of work as the available work potentially decreases. If the above-mentioned primary measures are not sufficient and the available work has temporarily decreased or ended, temporary and short-term (90 days at the most) full-time or part-time layoffs will be considered.
