Another positive month for Bologna Airport: in November there were 646,532 passengers, up 12.3% on November 2022, but down 9.3% on the same month of 2019 (last pre-Covid year).
In detail, passengers on national flights are growing (152,083, +15.9% on November 2022 and +2.0% on November 2019), while passengers on international flights (494,449) are increasing compared to 2022 (+11,3%) but mark a decrease compared to 2019 (- 12.3%).
Movements, at 5,114, also recorded growth on 2022 (+13.7%) and a decline on 2019 (- 7.9%), while freight were 3,566 tons (-8.3% on 2022 and +8.8% on 2019).
The "most flown" destinations in November 2023 were: Catania, Tirana, Barcelona, Paris De Gaulle, London Heathrow, Madrid, Istanbul, Frankfurt, Palermo and Bucharest. The increase in passengers to/from the Albanian capital is particularly significant (+55.2% on November 2022), which is currently served by three airlines, for a total of 32 departures per week.
In the period January - November, total passengers were 9,299,285, an increase of 17.6% on the same period of 2022 and of 7.0% on the same period of 2019.
In the first eleven months of 2023 there were 68,466 movements, up 12.5% on 2022 and 1.8% compared to 2019.
Freight from January to November were 37,900 tons: -4.0% on 2022 and +8.3 on 2019.

Aeroporto Guglielmo Marconi di Bologna, classified as a "strategic airport" in the centre-north area of the National Airports Plan prepared by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, recorded in 2022 8.5 million passengers, ranking as the seventh biggest Italian airport by number of passengers (Source: Assaeroporti – Aeroporti2030). Located in the heart of the Emilian food valley and the automotive and packaging industrial districts, the airport has a catchment area of about 11 million inhabitants and around 47,000 companies, with a strong propensity to exports and internationalisation and with commercial expansion policies to Eastern Europe and Asia.
As for airport infrastructure, the airport has among its strategic objectives in the next few years an important development plan that mainly concerns the expansion of the terminal, particularly in the parts of security checks and gate area. The company's aim is to make Bologna Airport one of the most modern and functional in Italy, an important gateway to the city and region.
