MARZOCCHI POMPE: THE PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM POSITIONED ON THE ZOLA PREDOSA PLANT HAS BEEN COMPLETED

The plant will cover more than one third of the company's energy needs, reducing atmospheric emissions by 506 kilograms/year of CO2

Bologna, 31 October 2023 – Marzocchi Pompe S.p.A. (EGM:MARP), a leading company in the design, production and marketing of high-performance gear pumps and motors, announces that it has installed a 954 kWp photovoltaic system at its Zola Predosa site, consisting of high-efficiency photovoltaic panels and string inverters to convert the energy produced.

The installation proves the company's green and eco-sustainable orientation, which has equipped itself with a system capable of reducing dependence on non-renewable energy sources. In fact, the photovoltaic system installed will be able to guarantee clean energy equal to more than a third of the company's total annual needs, with considerable savings on energy costs.

In terms of reducing the impact on the environment, with this installation, Marzocchi Pompe will reduce the emission of 506 kilograms/year of CO2 into the atmosphere.

The total investment amounts to €838,000, a large part of which was financed under the regional POR FESR 2014-2020 programme (Axis 4 - Action 4.2.1).

The new photovoltaic system was realised thanks to the technical support of Crea Energia, a company also rooted in the Emilia-Romagna region, specifically in Formigine, in the province of Modena, and specialised in the installation of industrial photovoltaic systems.

Gabriele Bonfiglioli, CEO of Marzocchi Pompe commented: "We are very pleased to have realised this important project, which will make a significant contribution to increasing our efficiency, and therefore our competitiveness. However, it is only the first step of a consumption optimisation plan, which will accompany us as we continue with the rationalisation of our layout.

The photovoltaic plant, which significantly reduces our environmental impact, is also an important step forward on ESG issues, which we will continue to address with increasing commitment."

It closed 2022 with over €48.5 million in sales revenue. Founded in 1949, it is controlled by the Marzocchi family, which holds the majority of shares and is represented in the company by Paolo Marzocchi, Chairman, and his son Carlo, Deputy Chairman.
