Die seit April am Neuen Markt notierte Rhein Biotech N.V. geht eine langfristige Kooperation mit dem Instituto Merieux Argentina S.A. (Rhone-Poulenc Gruppe) ein. Das argentinische Unternehmen übernimmt schrittweise die ebenfalls argentinische Rhein Biotech-Tochter Rhein Americana S.A. und erwirbt eine Lizenz zur Nutzung von Rhein Biotechs Expressionssystem. Neben einer Vorauszahlung vereinbarten die Unternehmen langfristige Lizenzgebühren. Mit Rhein Biotechs Schlüsseltechnologie produziert das Instituto Merieux Argentina ein Hepatitis-B-Oberflächen-Antigen als Basis eines neuen Kombina- tionsimpfstoffes für die internationalen Märkte. Geschätztes Marktpotential: 200 Millionen Dosen pro Jahr. (Rhone-Poulenc Group) in the field of hepatitis B: Several agreements have been signed involving up-front payments to Rhein Biotech as well as long term royalty payments on vaccine sales: The agreements include: – a step by step acquisition by the Instituto Merieux Argentina S.A. of one of Rhein Biotech’s production facilities (Rhein Americana S.A.); – a license to the Instituto Merieux Argentina S.A. for the use of Rhein Biotech’s technology for the production of hepatitis B surface antigen. The hepatitis B surface antigen produced using Rhein Biotech’s technology will be the basis for new combination vaccines containing hepatitis B to be developed by Instituto Merieux Argentina S.A. for international markets.
