The sender is solely responsible for the contents of this announcement. —————————————————————————— Nemetschek DVFA/SG result up by 170 per cent Above-average Rise in Sales during the Summer Months MUNICH – Nemetschek AG can look back on a very successful first three quarters this year, with a 170 per cent increase in the DVFA/SG-result. After goodwill amortization, the DVFA/SG result increased to DM 5.1 million from DM 1.9 million in the same period last year. The result increased to DM 9.1 million from DM 2.3 million before goodwill amortization. This represents an increase of 297 per cent. The operating profit in the first nine months almost doubled to DM 16.7 million from DM 8.7 million (91.5 per cent). In particular, sales during the period under review increased by 45.5 per cent which can be attributed to strong internal growth and acquisitions. During the traditionally slow third quarter, the company thus managed to build on the success of the preceding months and record above-average growth in sales. Invoiced sales increased to over DM 163 million from DM 112 million in the same period last year. The gross profit increased by 48.2 per cent to DM 139 million from DM 93.8 million (in 1998). In addition to strong sales growth of 47 per cent, the company’s activities abroad recorded significant growth of 41 per cent, thus making a notable contribution to the success of the company. In the core business units (Architecture, Civil Engineering, Contractor Systems and Hardware & Services), sales increased by 40 per cent. In the developing business units, sales were up by 115 per cent. These superb figures are an optimum basis for the traditionally strong last quarter in the individual business units. The acquisition strategy announced during the IPO has been successfully pursued during the third quarter. In July, Nemetschek AG announced a 51 per cent stake in Auer Bausoftware, Mondsee/Austria and a 20 per cent stake in Software Sidoun GmbH, Freiburg. In August, the Munichbased company acquired an 85 per cent stake in Henke & Partner, Achim-Uesen, and an 80 per cent interest in Apsis Software AG, Munich. The entry into the e-commerce growth market, accomplished with a joint venture with Bechtle AG in September, represents a significant milestone in the Nemetschek success story. Further acquisitions, due to contribute to the expansion of the company’s international activities, are being prepared.
