Für den Inhalt der Mitteilung ist allein der Emittent verantwortlich. —————————————————————————— ELMOS 1999 – das erfolgreichste Jahr der Firmengeschichte Auf ihrer Bilanzpressekonferenz hat die Dortmunder ELMOS Semiconductor AG die Ergebnisse ihres bisher erfolgreichsten Geschäftsjahres vorgestellt. ELMOS wird auf ihrer im Mai stattfindenden Hauptversammlung die Zahlung einer Dividende von DM 0,90 pro Aktie nach dem “Schütt-aus & Hol-zurück”-Prinzip vorschlagen. Der Umsatz stieg 1999 auf 169,3 Mio DM nach 139,3 Mio. DM im Vorjahr. Mit dem konstant wachsenden Umsatz geht eine Steigerung der Bruttomarge einher, die im vergangenen Geschäftsjahr 50,4% des Umsatzes erreichte. Für das Jahr 2000 wird ein Umsatzziel von über 200 Mio. DM angestrebt. Dazu trägt vor allem die wachsende Internationalisierung bei. Im EU-Markt wurden 1999 bereits 42% des Umsatzes getätigt; größtes Umsatzpotential sieht ELMOS weiterhin in den USA. Die stabile Preissituation für kundenspezifische integrierte Schaltungen (ASICs) sowie die Kostensenkungsmaßnahmen zeigten in 1999 deutliche Wirkung. Der schon in 1998 festgestellte Trend zu prozentual sinkenden Kosten bei der Halbleiterproduktion wurde in 1999 fortgesetzt. Das Ergebnis (vor Zinsen und Steuern) betrug 45,5 Mio. DM in 1999 nach 17,7 Mio. DM im Vorjahr. Dieses Ergebnis soll im laufenden Geschäftsjahr auf 58 Mio. DM ausgebaut werden. Damit erweist sich ELMOS als unabhängig von den Konjunkturzyklen des Halbleitermarktes und der Automobilindustrie. Die Erfolge in 1999 sichern die Umsätze bis weit über das Jahr 2005 hinaus. At the general meeting in May, ELMOS will suggest payment of dividends of DM 0,90 per share according the “pay- out & take-back” principle. Turnover in 1999 was increased to 169,3 million from 139,3 million the year before. With the constant growth in turnover, the gross margin is also increased, reaching 50,4% of turnover in the last financial year. The aim for the year 2000 is a turnover of 200 million DM. In particular the growing internationalisation is responsible for this. In 1999 42% of turnover was achieved in the EU market, the highest turnover potential for ELMOS is still in the USA. The stable price situation for customer- and application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) as well as cost decreasing measures took considerable effect in 1999. As already defined in 1998 the trend toward cost decrease relative to the turnover was continued in 1999. The EBIT (result before interest and tax) was 45,5 million DM in 1999 following 17,7 million DM the previous year. This result is expected to be expanded to 58 million DM in the current financial year. ELMOS has thus proven itself to be independent of the conjuncture cycles of the semiconductor market and the automotive industry. The success of 1999 secures the turnover for well past the year 2005.
