Für den Inhalt der Mitteilung ist allein der Emittent verantwortlich. —————————————————————————— Flughafen Wien Group Highly satisfactory results for the First Quarter 2000 Excellent traffic growth in April The Flughafen Wien Group ended the First Quarter of 2000 with excellent results. Operating profit rose by 19.6% to ATS 309 million (EUR 22.5 mill.), supported by 4.9% higher operating income and 0.1% lower operating expenses. Profit on ordinary activities rose by 25.3% to ATS 376 million (EUR 27.3 mill.), and net profit for the period increased by 27.4% to ATS 253 million (EUR 18.4 mill.). These results have been achieved in the light of a number of unusual seasonal factors. Aviation turnover increased by 4.7% to ATS 737 million (EUR 53.5 mill.) following solid growth in traffic, but non-aviation turnover remained at ATS 293 million (EUR 21.3 mill.). Income from duty-free shopping reduced and revenue from infrastructure services decreased after lower purchase prices for electricity and communications were passed on to customers. 12% INCREASE IN PASSENGERS DURING APRIL The late Easter, a key factor which affects passenger air travel, led to an increase of 12.3% in the number of passengers. Charter traffic rose by a strong 27.4%, with the Turkish vacation capital, Antalya, registering an increase of more than 400%. During April flight movements and maximum take-off weight increased by 9.6% and 8.5%, respectively, and cargo rose by a solid 16.2%. From January to April, flight movements increased by 7.3%, maximum take-off weight by 5.6% and the number of passengers by 4.7%. Cargo rose by an unusually strong 16.9%.
