The first half of 2000 was by far the best in the history of IGEL MEDIA AG: the gross operating result (EBITDA) jumped from minus 399.167 Euro in the same period last year to plus 3.1 million Euro. In other words,IGEL MEDIA has achieved the turn around within the shortest possible space of time. Revenues also rose in line with this and climbed 1,500 percent from minus 259,319 Euro in the same period last year to plus 4.3 million Euro this year. Annual net income amounted to plus 333,449 Euro. By contrast, the company registered a loss of minus 517,722 Euro in the first six months of 1999. After the management had to make downward adjustments to the results planned for 1999 last year (revenues: 669,492 Euro, annual loss: 2.3 million Euro), IGEL MEDIA is now back on target at the level predicted at the time of the initial public offering in July 1999. This encouraging business development is the outcome of the strategic reorientation from a national to global media company. IGEL MEDIA has expanded the operative side by a number of highly qualified experts and is now concentrating on high-grade production in the fields of animation / family programmes and non-fiction (documentaries). Besides the sale of programmes at home and abroad,the first six months of the current year were distinguished by successful programme acquisition.
