Toolex produziert und vertreibt, ebenso wie technotrans, Elektroforming Anlagen zur Herstellung von CDs und DVDs. Auf der heutigen Optical Media Conference in New York veröffentlichen die beiden Unternehmen die Absicht, ihr Geschäft zusammenzuführen. Mit diesem Schritt wird technotrans den wachstumsstärksten Geschäftsbereich auf einen Umsatz 2001 von voraussichtlich 20 Millionen Euro verdoppeln und dann über einen Marktanteil von deutlich über 50 Prozent verfügen. Vom Kaufpreis sollen mehr als 50 Prozent mit technotrans-Aktien bezahlt werden. technotrans will das gesamte Know-how sowie eine installierte Kundenbasis von weltweit 300 bis 400 Einheiten erwerben, für die zukünftig der Service übernommen werden soll. Toolex wird sich aus der unternehmerischen Verantwortung in diesem Produktbereich komplett zurückziehen und ab Januar 2001 ihren Kunden parallel technotrans-Anlagen (“modec.line”) oder von technotrans unter dem Namen “Alpha Plating” produzierte Anlagen anbieten. technotrans intends to acquire Toolex Electroforming Division Substantial boost to the fastest growing business sector technotrans AG, leading system supplier of units for the production of print and optical storage media, signed the “Letter of Understanding” for the purchase of Toolex International’s Electroforming Division, its biggest competitor in the CD/DVD sector. Toolex, like technotrans, produces and sells electroforming units for the production of CD’s and DVD’s. At today’s Optical Media Conference in New York the two companies announced their intention to merge their businesses. This would mean for technotrans to double the fastest growing business area to a turnover in 2001 of prospective 20 million Euro and a market share of over 50 percent. The purchase price shall be 10 million Euro, with more than 50 percent to be paid in technotrans shares. technotrans will acquire the complete know-how as well as an installed customer base of 300 to 400 systems world-wide, which will subsequently be supported be technotrans. Toolex will completely withdraw its industrial responsibility in this product field and from January 2001 onwards, will be offering their customers technotrans equipment (“modec.line”) or Alpha Plating equipment produced by technotrans.
