Januar 2001: Der am Neuen Markt notierte Mobile Computing Spezialist GERICOM AG (WKN 565 773) verzeichnet im Januar den höchsten Auftragsbestand seines 10-jährigen- Bestehens. Der derzeitige Rekord-Auftragsbestand beträgt rund 55 Millionen Euro. Bereits in den ersten fünf Wochen des Jahres 2001 werden rund 30.000 Notebooks ausgeliefert. Das bedeutet im Vergleich zum Vorjahr 2000 eine Steigerung bei Notebooks von 253 %. Mit den Aufträgen werden die fünf größten Kunden in Europa vorwiegend in den Vertriebsländern Deutschland, England, Frankreich, Spanien, Belgien, Niederlande, Österreich und Schweiz bedient. Die GERICOM AG wächst seit 10 Jahren kontinuierlich stärker als der Markt und ist Jahr für Jahr profitabel. In den ersten neun Monaten des Jahres 2000 konnte der Umsatz gegenüber dem Vergleichszeitraum des Vorjahres von Euro 155,4 Mio. auf Euro 218,8 Mio. gesteigert werden. Das Ergebnis vor Steuern erhöhte sich von Euro 3,8 Mio. auf Euro 9,6 Mio. Auch der Periodenüberschuss konnte überproportional von Euro 2,5 Mio. auf Euro 6,3 Mio. gesteigert werden. This record order level amounts to around Euro 55 million. Some 30,000 notebooks will be delivered in the first five weeks of the year alone, which represents an increase of 253% compared to the previous year’s figure. These deliveries will go to supply GERICOM’s five largest European customers, predominantly in the sales countries Germany, England, France, Spain, Belgium, The Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland. Over the past ten years, the company has consistently outperformed the markets in which it operates, and has been consistently profitable. One of the reasons for the strong success is the company’s core competence in early recognizing technological trends and developing and marketing innovative products. The considerable increase of 253 % in the area of notebooks can also be attributed to the fact, that GERICOM recently was the first European company to present a notebook with a 1000 MHz processor, which meet the highest requirements on computing performance. GERICOM markets and initiates business for retailers with notebooks, internet-compatible multimedia products and communication electronics. The company offers its customers a comprehensive service package, which ranges from individual, marketable product-specifications, through pricing, timing and structuring of promotions and point-of-sale assistance to a complete after-sales service. Leading retailers in Germany such as Media Markt and Karstadt are currently promoting GERICOM notebooks on television. Compared to the same period of the previous year, total sales in the first nine months of 2000 increased from Euro 155.4m to Euro 218.8m. Earnings before tax increased from Euro 3.8m to Euro 9.6m.
