The issuer has the sole responsibility of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– BASLER AG and STEAG Hamatech AG reach agreement in patent dispute D-Ahrensburg/Sternenfels, 04/04/2001 – The patent dispute which had been going on between BASLER AG and STEAG Hamatech AG since July 2000 has now been settled out of court. Both companies agreed to discontinue their pending proceedings with immediate effect accordingly. STEAG HamaTech AG had filed a suit for revocation of patent DE 44 344 75 of BASLER AG in July 2000, while BASLER AG had proceeded against STEAG HamaTech AG for intentional infringement of this patent. BASLER AG releases STEAG HamaTech AG and STEAG ETA-Optik GmbH from all claims out of their patent. STEAG HamaTech AG and STEAG ETA-Optik GmbH thus have no cause to continue the suit for revocation of the patent of BASLER AG any further. Consequently, the patent of BASLER AG remains in force.
