Ad hoc-Service: Koenig & Bauer AG english
Ad hoc announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– KBA Acquires De La Rue Giori SA Würzburg: Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA), the global leader in banknote and security presses, today an-nounced that it has acquired a 100% interest in Lausanne-based De La Rue Giori SA. following an enormously successful alliance in this market for almost 50 years. Until now Koenig & Bauer has primarily focused on designing and building printing presses plus diverse security and logistics features, while its Swiss part-ner concentrated on international sales and the development of counterfeit- proof processes for banknotes. As a result of this close collaboration a high proportion of securities and more than 90 per cent of all banknotes are printed on Koebau-Giori-DeLaRue die-stamping and perfector presses. Following its acquisition of De La Rue Giori, in which De La Rue plc in London and Roberto Giori each held 50% of the shares, Koenig & Bauer is planning to unite the activities of the two operations. This will improve customer service while safe-guarding the ongoing enhancement of existing product lines and the development of new ones to address market demand in the long term. Reinhart Siewert, president of Koenig & Bauer AG, commented: The acquisition of De La Rue Giori SA is a strategic investment in one of our key traditional markets and will enable us to maintain our pole position in the long term. The new full KBA subsidiary will maintain its Swiss operation but with a change of name.
