June 2001 – Basler AG – the worldwide leader in vision technology – the technology of artificial vision – today won a major order for inspection systems worth million euros from a well-known manufacturer in the flat screen industry. The order is yet another milestone for the Display Inspection business division on its path to greater growth. The manufacturing company, which does not wish to be named here due to the sensitive technology involved, placed an order for systems for the inspection of what are called color-filter substrates, a base product for making flat screens, to support production. In addition to the inspection of glass substrates, Basler’s Display Inspection division has now succeeded in providing its systems to cover yet another step in production. The strategic goal is to provide inspection systems for the entire process chain within the field of display manufacturing. Display Inspection is one of Basler AG’s three growth segments, which have already generated 50% of first-quarter sales. More and bigger sales increases are expected in the future.
