DCI Database english

Ad hoc announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– DCI AG acquires majority shareholding in Berlin-based data logistics company MuK GmbH Starnberg, Germany – 25 June 2001. DCI AG today announced that it has acquired a sixty percent shareholding in the Berlin-based data logistics specialist MuK Medien- und Kommunikations GmbH. A transfer price of 1.02 million euros was agreed. MuK is a highly innovative, fast-growing provider of premium media/IT and data processing services. The acquisition enriches DCI’s existing database and media offering with a broad portfolio of complementary services, paving the way for far-reaching synergy effects. Founded in 1997, MuK focuses on data capture and data flow management. Billing is positioned as one of MuK’s core areas of competence, with the company concentrating in particular on services of different origin. MuK offers on-the- fly, platform-neutral electronic billing services for data mining, customer relationship management and data warehousing, for example. Print-on-demand (POD), digital form management and a range of standard media products round off MuK’s offering. Turnover exceeded 7.7 million euros in 2000, with the company already posting black figures in the current fiscal year. Double-digit percentage rates of growth are predicted for the coming years. It is anticipated that turnover for the 2001 fiscal year alone will increase by over fifty percent to 11.8 million euros with a positive EBIT. Customers include high- profile government bodies and prominent private enterprises. Looking to the future, the long-term nature of many of the contracts concluded by MuK provide the company with a highly secure basis. By acquiring an interest in MuK, DCI has opened up lucrative new channels to dramatically expand its existing offering (online marketplaces, b2b solutions, eService suite and media). Its new subsidiary will now handle all data management activities both for DCI and its customers. DCI also plans to leverage MuK’s core competencies to develop innovative new products. end of ad hoc announcement (c) DGAP 25.06.2001 Issuer’s information/explanatory remarks concerning this ad hoc announcement: The acquisition is a key milestone in DCI’s strategy to achieve its vision networking communities to enable communication and trade across company borders and all other interfaces. Michael Mohr, CEO of DCI AG, had the following to say on DCI’s latest acquisition: “Our trade database offers huge additional value that we have not yet tapped. The alliance with MuK empowers us to harness some of the hidden potential in our database and put it to work for our customers. Intelligent network management will enable one-stop translations which means we can engineer end-to-end solutions to support the most complex business processes. This gives us a huge competitive advantage over pure marketplace providers or pure CRM and data warehousing software manufacturers. DCI now offers a one-stop shopping solution for it all.” About DCI AG Since its formation in 1993, DCI AG has been a major player in the fast-growing b2b e-commerce market.
