As reported in the ProSiebenSat.1 Group’s nine-month report released today, a declining German television advertising market and the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of September 11 slowed the business growth of the Group in the first three quarters of 2001. As of September 30, 2001, the company had generated consolidated revenues of EUR 1.419 billion, as compared to EUR 1.486 billion in the same period last year. This is equivalent to a de- cline of 4.5%. However, in terms of net earnings, a wide range of cost- controlling measures made up for close to half of the revenue decline of EUR 67.2 million. Consolidated pre-tax result was EUR 34.6 million, down only EUR 30.8 million from the previous EUR 65.4 million. Group net income for the first three quarters was EUR 22.3 million, following EUR 30.6 million for the same period last year. DVFA/SG earnings per share were down 33%, to EUR 0.10. Cash flow calculated according to DVFA/SG methods amounted to EUR 844.3 million. EBIT amounted to EUR 67.1 million, following the previous year’s EUR 93.6 million. EBITDA, at EUR 113.5 million, was 21% below the previous year’s value.
