The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Preliminary full year 2001 figures above company expectations / dividend proposal – Group sales increase by 17 % to EUR 760.3 mn (2000: EUR 648.9 mn excluding net license fees of EUR 54.3 mn collected on behalf of German regional exchanges of EUR 54.3 mn) – Group EBIT increases by 28% to EUR 278.1 mn – Earnings per share (DFVA/SG) of EUR 2.04 (2000: EUR 1.95) – Board of management proposes 20% higher dividend of EUR 0.36 (2000: EUR 0.30) Frankfurt. Deutsche Boerse’s preliminary figures for the full year 2001 have exceeded company expectations. The 17 % increase in sales to EUR 760.3 mn (year 2000: EUR 648.9 mn excluding net license fees of EUR 54.3 mn collected on behalf of German regional exchanges as reported from 2001 on) was driven by the strong growth in the derivatives market Eurex with segmental sales up 68 % at EUR 268.8 mn (year 2000: EUR 160.4 mn), and the Information Products division with segmental sales up 33% at EUR 109.9 mn (2000: EUR 82.5 mn). Xetra sales decreased by 14 % to EUR 243.1 mn (year 2000: EUR 277.8 mn). The 28 % increase of earnings before tax and interest (EBIT) to EUR 278.1 mn (year 2000: EUR 216.5 mn including write downs as reported from 2001 on) was driven by Eurex with an EBIT growth from EUR 10.4 to 99.3 mn in 2001, and a 27 % increase of the Systems segment EBIT to EUR 93.4 mn (year 2000: EUR 73.8 mn). In Q4 2001, groupwide sales increased by 12 % to EUR 200.2 mn on a year on year basis (Q4/2000: EUR 178.5 mn), EBIT rose by 51 % to EUR 52.8 mn during the same timeframe (Q4/2000: EUR 34.9 mn).
