The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Lenzing AG: Further increase in capacity Yesterday the Supervisory Board of Lenzing AG approved the further expansion of the fiber and pulp production at Lenzing. With this, the course has been set for strengthening Lenzing AG’s position on the world market. By removing production bottlenecks, the capacities to produce fibers at Lenzing will be increased by about 20,000 tonnes to 200,000 tonnes per year in the future. Parallel to that, pulp capacities will be expanded by 35,000 tonnes, which will also contribute to maintaining full integration at the Lenzing site for the future. The processsing of the raw material wood to pulp and finally to viscose and modal fibers in an integrated process is the basis for the cost and quality leadership of the company. The investment amounts to a total sum of approximately EUR 90 million. The additional capacities will be available by the end of 2003. “There is a continuously strong demand for our fibers, especially for Modal. In order to fully utilize the potential for growth the expansion of capacities is necessary, as well as economically highly attractive,” says Dr. Franz Raninger, Member of Lenzing AG’s Board of Management with fiber responsibilities. By implementing the increase in its capacities, the Lenzing Group continues its consistent course towards growth, with the goal of strengthening its leadership on world markets through thePY<öxw>-K mK !e special fiber segments. Lenzing AG is the only manufacturer worldwide that unites all three cellulose fiber generations under one roof – classical Viscose, Modal and Lyocell. end of ad-hoc-announcement (c)DGAP 28.06.2002 ——————————————————————————– WKN: 852927; ISIN: AT0000644505; Index: Listed: Amtlicher Handel in Wien; Amtlicher Handel in Frankfurt und München; Freiverkehr in Berlin 280740 Jun 02
