SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES Introduces New DVD-R Replication Line! Corporate-news announcement sent by DGAP. The sender is solely responsible for the contents of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES Introduces New DVD-R Replication Line! SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG, Kahl/Main, has developed a new DVD-R and DVD+R replication line dubbed STREAMLINE DVDR/SP. With growth in the DVD-R market proceeding as rapidly as expected, SINGULUS has prepared for the imminent business in DVD-R systems by implementing new developments and strengthening its technological competence well before year- end. The STREAMLINE DVDR/SP introduces a system never before available in terms of cycle time and process reliability. DVD-R and DVD+R replication on the STREAMLINE DVDR/SP is guaranteed at cycle times of less than 7 seconds. This new development combines CD-R replication line modules such as the proven dye coating module, drying oven, buffer stations, and new substrate cooling system with the SPACELINE replication line metallizing and bonding components. By market launch, several of these new SINGULUS replication lines had already been sold. The STREAMLINE DVDR/SP will further advance the companys growth strategy for the years 2003/2004. Background: DVD-R=Digital Versatile Disc-Recordable; optical storage media for personal archiving (burning) of digital information (video and PC data); the DVD-R can be recorded only once and can then only be replayed. DVD-R is the most cost-effective medium for recording videos and copying the DVD format and as such is destined to become accepted by consumers around the world as quickly as CD-R was. The recording devices are already available in all media markets. DVD recorders for DVD+RW and DVD+R as well as DVD-RAM and DVD-R are being sold for less than 900 Euro. The continued decline in DVD recorder prices will soon prompt a rapid increase in the demand for discs and, as a consequence, for the systems on which they are manufactured. 02-23-09-pi-e.doc For further information, please contact: Bernhard Krause, SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG Tel.:+49 (0) 6181-9828020 end of message, (c)DGAP 23.09.2002 ——————————————————————————– WKN: 723 890; ISIN: DE0007238909; Index: NEMAX 50 Listed: Neuer Markt in Frankfurt; Freiverkehr in Berlin, Bremen, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover, München und Stuttgart 230934 Sep 02
