The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Funkwerk strengthens Private Networks segment Funkwerk AG (WKN 575 314) continues to expand its Private Networks business segment: With the sales agreement now being effective, Funkwerk has recently taken over 100 per cent of the wireless LAN technology provider ARtem GmbH in Ulm. However, the purchase price, which was taken out of the liquid funds, was not disclosed by either party. Thus, as the market leader in professional communication systems for traffic and logistics, Funkwerk now has access to new technologies and customer groups in the Public Hot Spots, Research & Education, Logistics, and Distribution areas and the industry. Customers of ARtem include for germany a Ford factory, the Studentenwerk (student administration) Mainz, Thyssen Umformtechnik, and the Stuttgart Fraunhofer-Institut. Having arisen from the radio data transmission activities of Daimler-Benz Aerospace AG in 1997, ARtem GmbH today is a leading technology provider of wireless LAN solutions in Germany and, in particular, a pioneer in the area of outdoor networking. Employing a staff of 35, ARtem records a turnover of around 7 million Euro. Both founders of the company, Markus Deisböck and Michael Marsanu, will continue to manage the businesses of ARtem GmbH.
