The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Q3/02: freenet.de AG succeeds again with large customer increases and is in the black Q3/02-EBITDA/IAS with 3.88mill.EUR clearly positive(Q3/01:-5.1mill.EUR);a clearly positive Q3/02-EBT/IAS with +2.54mill.EUR(Q3/01:-6.24 mill.EUR);9 months’ revenues of just under 29mill.EUR and a gross profit of 91% over the total revenues for 2001 of 27.95mill.EUR;Strong customer increase:3.4mill. active access customers(end of Q3/02) Like Q2/02 freenet.de again has a clearly positive EBITDA realized of 3.88mill.EUR in Q3/02(Q3/01:-5.1mill.EUR).In this regard, the EBITDA margin is at almost 40%, calculated on revenue.The Q3/02-EBT result as of plus 2.54mill.EUR is also clearly in the profitability zone. The Q3/01-EBT was at – 6.24mill.EUR, meaning, freenet.de has improved on this result within just one year by nearly 9mill.EUR a quarter. The Q3/02-group result of 1.29mill.EUR is positive for the first time(Q3/01:-3.88mill.EUR).After the first 9 months 2002, freenet.de also has achieved with 4.68mill.EUR a clearly positive EBITDA(- 11.05mill.EUR in the same period of 2001). With a positive 9-months-EBT in 2002 as of plus 0.82mill.EUR,freenet.de is also EBT profitable on an accumulated basis (-13.12mill.EUR in the first 9 months 2001). In Q3/02, freenet.de has achieved a new record by generating 10.16mill.EUR total revenues – a plus of 60% compared to Q3/01 (6.33mill.EUR). As already in Q2/02, the segments of advertising and e-commerce indicate the most vigorous growth in Q3/02. For the first 9 months 2002, an accumulated revenue of 28.84 mill.EUR was earned – an increase of 50% compared to the first 9 months 2001 (19.22mill.EUR). End of Q3/02, 3.4 million households are using a freenet.de internet-access – alone 167,000 new customers in Q3/02 were acquired.
