technotrans forms provision Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– technotrans forms provision Potential compensation claims prompt formation of provision in fourth quarter Sassenberg, November 14, 2002 The Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court today pronounced its judgement in the patent dispute with the competitor Baldwin Technologies which stretches back a number of years. To the surprise of the Board of Management, the court found in favour of the plaintiff in these appeal proceedings. The Board of Management will examine the reasons given for the judgement and decide to what extent it is to make use of its right of appeal in taking the matter to the Federal Supreme Court (‘Bundesgerichtshof’). This judgement paves the way for a claim for compensation, the level of which may have to be determined in further legal proceedings. To minimise the risk, technotrans AG will create a provision to the value of the matter in dispute (Euro 2.5 million) in accordance with IAS guidelines. This measure will diminish earnings for the fourth quarter of the year by Euro 2.5 million. technotrans’ profitability steadily improved as scheduled in all three segments throughout the first three quarters of the current financial year. Despite this operative strength, the company will not be in a position to compensate for the impact of this provision on earnings in the current market environment. technotrans Corporate Communications Thessa Möller Tel. +49 (0) 2583 301887 e-mail [email protected] end of ad-hoc-announcement (c)DGAP 14.11.2002 ——————————————————————————– WKN: 744900; ISIN: DE0007449001; Index: Listed: Neuer Markt in Frankfurt; Freiverkehr in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover, München und Stuttgart 141139 Nov 02
