SHS Informationssysteme AG releases figures for the business year 2002 Corporate-news announcement sent by DGAP. The sender is solely responsible for the contents of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– SHS Informationssysteme AG releases figures for the business year 2002 Munich, 28 March 2003 – The SHS Group obtained a positive EBITDA of 0.7 million Euro (2001: -0.3 million Euro). Operational business is thus back in the black. The reason for this positive development are consequent and comprehensive cost- saving measures. For example, other operating expenses were able to be reduced from 8.2 to 6.5 million Euro compared to the previous year. This amount even includes for 2002 one-time restructuring costs of 1.1 million Euro. Despite the difficult market environment, SHS was able to maintain a turnover at last year`s level with 31.2 million Euro (2001: 32.3 million Euro). The loss for the year for the entire group was -6,6 million Euro in 2002 (2001: -3,6 million Euro). This loss was primarily the result of the amortization of goodwill amounting to 4.5 million Euro (2001: 2.4 million Euro). These amortizations followed from the company`s decision to value its participations more conservatively. Added to this is a complete depreciation of previously activated software produced in- house, which is accounted for within the framework of a more cautious balance and is amounting to 1.4 million Euro (previous year: 0.5 million Euro). The positive operational result stands for successful optimization of cost structures and internal processes. The SHS Group will also maintain in the future the belt-tightening that it has adopted. Healthy growth combined with a significant increase in operational profitability is the top goal for 2003. The last changes in the composition of the SHS board of directors at the same time constitutes a new strategic realignment: for the future, the company will again be concentrating more on its core competences in customer relationship management and on the core product GUARDEAN. An extensive and well-known customer base underscores this strategic decision. SHS will present the complete consolidated financial statements for 2002 and the outlook for business development in 2003 at a telephone press conference and a telephone DVFA analysts` conference, both of which will take place on 28 March 2003. ———————————————————————– Background information SHS at a glance: The internationally active SHS Informationssysteme AG is among the leading consulting firms for Information Technology (IT) in the European market.
