HeidelbergCement defends itself against cartel fine Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– HeidelbergCement defends itself against cartel fine Today, HeidelbergCement received a penalty notice for EUR 251.5 million from the Federal Cartel Office in the cartel proceedings against the German cement industry. The central accusation amounts to participation for many years in quota agreements in South Germany. The size of the fine results essentially from expected incremental sales caused by a cartel. The company disputes the significant part of the charges as well as any incremental sales and will immediately lodge an appeal. The competent court is unfettered in its assessment and appraisal of the facts and in no way committed to the accusations of the cartel authority. The company has created a provision that also represents an appropriate provision for contingencies in the judgement of its auditor and the cartel lawyers involved. There are no obligations to pay until the final legal decision on the charges.
