Nemetschek reports first-half profit Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Nemetschek reports first-half profit Cost optimization and efficiency gains take effect / strategy of putting earnings ahead of sales working / operating income of EUR 1.9 million / full- year profit expected Munich, July 28, 2003. The Nemetschek Group, one of the leading vendors of software and consulting services for the design, construction and management of buildings and real estate, has confirmed the positive overall trends emerging over the past few months in the first half of 2003 as a whole. Although the preliminary sales revenue of EUR 45.2 million contracted as expected (previous year: EUR 55.1 million) in the wake of the protracted crisis afflicting the construction sector, Nemetschek achieved operating income (EBIT) of EUR 1.9 million, thus reversing the loss of EUR 4.9 million which had been sustained in the same period one year earlier. Consolidated net income came to EUR 1.2 million, replacing the year-ago loss of EUR 6.8 million. As at June 30, liquid- ity stood at EUR 25.3 million (up from EUR 21.1 million on December 31, 2002). Last fiscal year, Nemetschek launched a restructuring program entailing extensive measures for boosting efficiency and optimizing processes. These activities are being continued with the planned implementation of a holding- company structure, a decision on which will be made at tomorrow’s annual general meeting in Munich. The foreign subsidiaries’ sales revenue remained stable. On the German market, the ongoing spending restraint in the IT sector as well as a further deterioration of conditions in the construction sector, the Company’s most important customer group, are continuing to take their toll on Nemetschek. The Board expects the Company to post full-year net income for 2003 in spite of the fact that the upcoming third quarter will be fairly muted for seasonal reasons. The final figures will be released on August 22, 2003.
