The IT service provider SHS Informationssysteme AG has received a further order from the BMW Bank. “We are very pleased to be working together with one of the best-known financial service providers”, said Dirk Roesing, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SHS AG. The new order comprises as next step the launch of the SHS credit risk management system GUARDEAN in Spain. The BMW Bank has already been working for several months with the SHS credit audit system in the Netherlands, Italy and Switzerland. The application is so successful that the BMW Group has now placed another order for Spain, and additional orders for Belgium and Austria will be issued shortly. Apart from clear competitive advantages, by using GUARDEAN the Munich car manufacturer is reducing the payment default risk and process costs in the financing decision by a two-digit amount in the millions. At the same time, the new software brings savings effects of more than one million Euro in the next four years. The BMW Bank has been using the SHS AG’s GUARDEAN credit risk management system, which has been successful since 1999, as a comprehensive application evaluation system. The software is integrated centrally in the BMW data processing center and comprises in addition to the standard base specific modules that meet all requirements of the individual European countries. With GUARDEAN, the transaction time for processing a financing application can be reduced from sometimes several hours to a few minutes. Every BMW dealer in Europe thus receives a decision from the BMW Bank within a very short time based on the customer’s current financial situation. SHS Informationssysteme AG, based in Munich, is listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt stock exchange and is also represented with its own subsidiaries in Spain and France. The provider of IT services concentrates on customer management as well as credit risk management of companies with a wide customer base. Among the SHS AG clientele are T-Mobile, O2, Telefónica, France Telecom, Barclaycard and other international corporations of the information and finance industry.
