The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— E.ON to use CTA to fund provisions for pensions E.ON AG will use the group’s strong liquidity and financial position to fund up to 5.4 billion euros of its provisions for pensions by means of a contractual trust arrangement (CTA). The E.ON AG Supervisory Board made this decision at its meeting today. The CTA will increase the transparency of E.ON’s balance sheet and further strengthen the financial security of employees’ company pension plans. Under the CTA, the corresponding funds are converted to plan assets for the fulfillment of pension obligations. The funding process will begin soon and be complete in 2006.
