bmp AG: Green light for private equity fund of funds with König & Cie.

September 2005 The private equity fund of funds initiated by bmp AG and Hamburg-based issuing house “König & Cie. International Private Equity GmbH & Co. KG”, for whom bmp acts as fund manager, was given the green light today. Even before selling commenced, the fund effected four commitments in internationally renowned target funds worth approximately EUR 11 million, which have been backed by a placement guarantee by the initiator König & Cie. The overall target volume of the fund is EUR 30-50 million. This fund, with its subscription volume starting at just EUR 10,000 plus a 5% premium, shall facilitate access to the private equity market for private investors. Among the selected funds are Carlyle Europe II (Buy-out Europe), Oak Hill Capital Partners II, Francisco Partners II (Buy-out USA) and Wellington Partners III (Venture Capital Europe). The experienced managers of these funds have already generated above-average earnings and are among the top performers in their particular market segments. The initiators of the fund of funds expect a target return of considerably more than 10% p.a. (IRR) for the investors. bmp and König & Cie. have now completed the fund prospectus and submitted it to the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) for approval. The fund of funds shall be put into circulation via König & Cie. in mid October 2005 at the latest.
