DEUTZ AG: Operating profit 2005 climbs to € 62.5 million

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— Based on preliminary calculations DEUTZ achieved an operating profit (EBIT) before one-off items of € 62.5 million (2004: € 53.5 million). This represents a rise of around 17 percent versus the previous year. On a comparable basis, i.e. without the contribution from the marine service business for the months April to December 2004, EBIT was up by more than double. Net profit for the year was € 71.4 million (2004: € -18.7 million) and was, among other things, influenced by the positive one-off items amounting to € 52.2 million, that mainly result from the sale of the marine service business. For 2005, DEUTZ switched from the HGB (German Commercial Code) reporting system to the international IFRS standard, and this also affected 2004 as the comparison period.
