METRO AG: METRO AG to sell remaining shareholding in Praktiker

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— Duesseldorf, 10 April 2006 – In light of the sound share price development since the IPO in November 2005 and the sustained high demand from the international investment community, METRO AG has decided to realize its remaining stake of c.40.5% in Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte Holding AG. The shares are to be sold with the support of a bank syndicate comprising JPMorgan, ABN AMRO and Deutsche Bank.
